As the sun dips low in the sky, the waves in the sand become much more

evident to the eye because of the shadows. Take note at how long the

shadow is from the stone in the dunes. The wind seemed to have swirled

the sand in several directions as it move from the flat area to the

rising dune. I have always been fascinated by these dunes and their

wind blown patterns. Chris, Ray and I were lucky to have found these

pristine dunes in the Mesquite Dunes fields in Death Valley on our

last trip this past November.

A study in form, texture and light. Magnificent! Amazing detail! I've been in those dunes, and it takes a great eye to be able to extract a shot like this when you're in such an expanse of sand. Bravo, Leo!

You certainly captured a magical combination of ripples and lines, plus those dynamic shadows in the background. My first visit last year to these dunes, and the second one about three weeks ago delivered wonderful views, but Ohh, I wish I had seen this one. :-) Toast to you Leo.

Magical and delightful! Gorgeous composition, and your black and white conversion could not be better! That small FG branch really anchors the image too. Beautiful details. Terrific work, Leo! Cheers! Chris

of the 3 of us I think you managed to bring out the absolute best of those dunes. Well done on this shot and the long shadow really puts it all in perspective...Lefty

Wonderful image!!!!

It's as if I'm viewing ripples in the sea... I love the long shadow from the rock. I must see all this for myself someday soon. I think I will fall in love with the beauty all around.
