artofheadshots 0 Posted February 6, 2003 I rated your aesthetics 7 because I do not think it could possibly be better. Link to comment
dominiquedodge 0 Posted February 7, 2003 Funny how there's no pleasing everyone. IMO the fill flash and the tilt of this particular palm is what elevates this above the level of the common sunset (no to mention that the sky is terrific). I feel that the crown of the palm could be improved with a bit more flash/light and the top not cropped so close ... but it's already very good. Link to comment
rameses__ii 0 Posted February 9, 2003 I would suggest either more or less fill on the tree. Less for more of a sillouette, but more would give the leaves some light. Link to comment
arda 0 Posted February 9, 2003 An amazing sunset captured beautifully. I would have preferred it if the tree in the foreground was a silouette. Thanks for sharing! Link to comment
rmi 0 Posted February 19, 2003 WOW!!! I think I would have left the foreground tree in silhouette, but that's just me. Incredible colors! Link to comment
kasigi 0 Posted February 21, 2003 Really impressive use of color here! The fill flash also made quite a difference with the palm tree. The only way I can see to improve this shot is to put a warming filter on the flash itself to make the light on the tree similar to the lovely sunset. Link to comment
rick h. 0 Posted February 24, 2003 The colors are fantastic. The composition is good but personally I would have preferred the tree in a silhouette rather than lit with flash. For me, the texture and the colors on the tree detract from the incredible colors in the sky and on the water. Regardless, finding sunsets with such colors is either luck or borderline psychotic persistence. :) Great job on being in the right place at the right time with a camera. I always seem to be without a camera when that perfect shot presents itself... R.H. Link to comment
erik_kowalewsky 0 Posted March 7, 2003 Interesting use of flash. I can't figure out if I like it or not. Maybe what I'm looking for would be accomplished by using some sort of warming gel over the flash head... Link to comment
abaybas 0 Posted April 14, 2003 I've seen a ton of silhouette trees, so I definetly appreciate you using a flash. only if it was a stronger flash, could have made it more interesting. very good job. thanks for sharing. Link to comment
