jeff.grant 0 Posted December 9, 2009 Peter, I see a beautiful square image cropped from the bottom, as well as a very pleasing landscape. Link to comment
PeterKrenek 26 Posted December 9, 2009 Thank you, Jeff for sharing your ideas. Indeed, the square is interesting, it has the feeling of having more depth, at least to me. I was afraid to lose the cloud, but there is its reflection, so it is still there... Link to comment

giuseppe_miriello1 0 Posted December 9, 2009 well done image, nice idea the squared framing... pity for the leaves - they are a bit too many - but i guess those couldnt be avoided. Link to comment
PeterKrenek 26 Posted December 10, 2009 Giuseppe, Pep, thank you. The leaves could not be avoided to have a version without them, but I am not worried by them, it was autumn time. I think that the leaves help to define the surface of the reflection, hence adding an element which distinguishes real from the imaginary. Of course there are different ways to look at the picture and I am sure that a clean mirror reflection would be an interesting alternative. Link to comment
hyzdic 0 Posted December 17, 2009 I looked at all three versions and this one seems the best for me. Simple composition with no distracting elements or areas (like trees on the left side of the other shot), very nice reflection and pattern from leafs on the water surface. If I may suggest little improvements, I would darken the sky as you did on your last submission. Also, a slight crop from both sides to eliminate protruding branches could make the composition even smoother for my eyes. And finally, a small push of warm hues would help convey the mood of fall. These are minor suggestions only, overally very good effort on this one, Peter. Link to comment
PeterKrenek 26 Posted December 17, 2009 Thank you, Marek, for taking the time to leave a valuable comment. I am glad you like it. I shall certainly try warming-up and darkening the sky (I bracketed one stop for this reason...). Having preliminarily tried, the cropping is also OK, albeit it becomes a different format. It shall take some time (my computer is not very fast on 16bit 6x7 multilayered files...). Link to comment
PeterKrenek 26 Posted December 19, 2009 Marek, I have updated the image, attaching the original for comparison. You may need to clear the cache of your browser. Link to comment
hyzdic 0 Posted December 21, 2009 Peter, I think it's much better now but depends on what your feeling is. Link to comment
PeterKrenek 26 Posted December 21, 2009 Marek, I think it is an improvement, too. As I feel it, the essence of the calm autumn day is there. Link to comment
