With appologies to Gerhard Richter

The Larkspur Ferry route runs close to San Francisco waterfront at

this tangential point, so I've accumulated many shots of this marine

cityscape -- both morning and evening. Some are in my Boat Rides

folder. This is the first that I've worked up aggressively in

Photoshop.

Very painterly, but not in a traditional sense (the painters of old never did cityscapes like ths though). It might be worth straightening the buildings at the left, but it's not that bad.

This was done in PS?! I thought it was just what happens when you shoot though plastic spray-coated boat windows.

 

I like the effect, though to feel its full impact we'd have to view it large. So, Peter, get those 30x30" prints or 65Meg files out ASAP.

 

The only criticism I have is that all the doors have been obscured.

Pretty agressive for sure. Extremly cool effect and I applaud this effort! OK, I need a martini from Bix now...

Try Unsharp Mask it works wonders for me. All my shots look like this until I get them in PS 7. Sometimes it works better than others, however.

Can you see me now?

Nice, but I can never get mine to look that sharp.
