Not Here 93 Posted December 1, 2009 Eliot would be proud :-). We don't have aspens but I sure do like them... A colorful and lively shot... Mike Link to comment
timzeipekis 5 Posted December 1, 2009 Beautiful display of color David! The white's in the trees really make the image pop. I'm curious as to your thoughts for the crop. Scrolling this up and down on the screen, I notice that the top third or the bottom third could be cropped to make two other, distinct but still effective images. IMO. Link to comment
David-Wisse 5 Posted December 1, 2009 Thank you Patsy - glad you like it! Thanks Mike. Eliot Porter (the Ansel Adams of color nature photography) was my early inspiration for taking up the camera. This shot reminded me of his style, (not that it in any way compares!). Aspens are a favorite of mine as well - even though they grow like weeds around here. Tim - Good eye - I can see the other possibilites now that you mention them. This shot is a scan from a 6x4.5 transparency - so should take a tight crop well. Thanks for viewing! David-Wisse 5 Posted December 5, 2009 Tony - thanks again. The scan here came out spot on color-wise - some loss of detail though. The original medium format Velvia transparency was very sharp. Best, David Link to comment
