wondering about framing... opinions welcome

I think it's framed well except on the bottom. The branches fill the sides and center well. The bottom has a hint of trunk; the two main trunks/limbs may be joined, but it's hard to tell. I think the photo would be stronger if just a bit more of the bottom was showing (just a couple of millimeters). What's shown just puts a question in the viewer's mind, and that's not always good. It's a very nice tree photo with the uplifting branches and the leaves that fill the sky.

I agree on the framing ideas mentioned at the top.. thats what I was wondering about. Either more of the common branch on the bottom, or none so there are 2 distinct lines. and I was worried about the empty spot to the bottom right...

thanks for the responses.... BTW HAwaii is a great place to take pics of trees! Everyone thinks of the ocean and the volcanos, but there are amazing trees.

Andrew, I just now looked at your title, and being a biologist, your photo suddenly had even more interest to me. This is a wonderful representation of alveoli. I wonder how many people will catch that.

Sharp eye Stephen, I was wondering if anyone noticed and would mention it. I was in Hawaii for work for the day and was sitting under these beautiful trees in a park taking a breather from my photo hike. I realized that the trees were breathing as well, right above me. You could almost hear them. Its funny but I started to think that rather the leaves being "out" and the roots being "in" .. it might be the other way around!

 

It really does look like anatomical structure to me... almost like a fractal. BTW many things look like fractals from the flight deck at work. I'm trying to find a way to take pictures through polarized windscreens from altitude so see if I can capture it.
