Carl, this definitely works better for me as a monochrome image. The texture of the receding clouds balances the texture of the stone in a way that's perfect, and that isn't present in the color shot. Looking at this, I feel as if I'm being pulled toward that foundation. There's something haunting and dreamlike about it--one of those things you remember from somewhere when you can't recall if what you originally saw is this or how your imagination distorted it. Really compelling work.
