steven_dempsey 0 Posted November 20, 2009 Erik, thanks for posting your photograph. I have a few thoughts... 1. I'm not too keen on the way you have framed her face. She is too low down and her eyes are almost dead center. The impression to me is that she is slipping out of the photograph. This particular framing also diminishes her perceived importance somewhat. You are also putting a strong emphasis on her forehead which I assume is not your intent. 2. In general, I try to keep the background darker than my subject. Our eyes naturally are drawn to the brightest part of a photograph and, because your background is brighter than her face, I'm conflicted between her eyes and the white to the right of her face. 3. You have some hotspots on her face which are distracting. Particularly above her near eye and at the top of her nose. If you shoot Camera RAW, you can use the "recovery" slider to save detail in these overexposed areas. Just some things to think about.
