A common scene along the pristine reefs of Morovo Lagoon in The Solomon Islands. The Solomons are a true wilderness paradise, the last frontier for travel in the South Pacific. The reefs have some of the greatest biodiversity in the world and since there is very little tourist infrastructure, the islands are a dream destination for those seeking real adventure in the South Seas. Monitor Lizards roam the beaches, shark callers still practice their ancient art, and dense rainforests cloak the slopes of smoking volcanoes. It's a stunning landscape both above and below the surface of the sea.

Thanks Rajeev! We actually witnessed the Tsunami while we were in The National Park of American Samoa. I feel like we dodged a huge bullet there. No serious injuries on our particular island but it was one of the more surreal and scary moments of my life. I appreciate knowing that you were thinking about us out there!

Dear Michael,

this is a stunning photo. In fact it attracts my attention because it is so well done and at the same time so surreal. I do not know what I see. And I did not know that the 5D mark II can dive and still shoot excellent photos. Hope to see photos from the volcano forests. Kind regards. Karl

This is a reef shark swimming through a school of fish, which are opening up to let him through. I used an Aquatica underwater housing for my Canon camera to get this. I have lots of new images from here. Great to hear from you.
