Cup of Coffee

Took this candid shot as I sit across her. Please critique the

shot. What you like and what you dont like.

the idea is good but there is no sequence here. looks like the woman is startled then she sips and she is eating here cake?

I like the idea of a portrait sequence showing a person at different stages of executing or performing something.

 

I like the use of the tight framing, while still being able to see a little of what she is up to. The shallow depth of field is just right too.

 

One criticism i have is about the coffe mug, which is very bright and distracting. Would it have been possible to burn it in a little? Another point is, in none of the pictures is she making eye contact, and in the middle pic (the weakest i feel) we are not even able to see her eyes. A future sequence might well be improved by allowing the viewer to engage with the subject in one or more pictures

 

A nice idea, which attracted my attention and one which has definite future possibilities.
