Stress in the Hummingbird Cafe at the Juravinski Cancer Centre

I think this is a very original perspective - looking down on this 'flower assembly' of table & chairs, with 2 people ( who, I hope are de-stressing -- having lunch; I don't see blackberries:) here. I like the title - but I'm looking for how it translates stress to me. I personally can perceive stress as a disorder of sorts as well. And then I find the assembly of table & chairs ( although in tune with b & w colors, and some pastel accessories) too much of a disorder. Maybe it's just what you meant. I tried ( with my hands) cropping off a bit on the R side, and from the top. It then became a more tranquil setting in my opinion. But then you would loose the title... Anyway, these are just my thoughts :) Kind regards, Marjolein

Thank you for your thoughtful analysis of this image. Yes, you've understood what I think I meant and why this image is presented the way it is. I wrestled with other titles like "Tension" or "Strain." But I concluded that it represented stress and in more than one way, as you note, including my own.

Well, a lot has happened since this shot was taken. I took very few photos whenever Joan and I were at Hamilton, the Juravinski, the Lodge and all the great places indoors and out where we sat, exercised, shopped or ate. But we certainly had a number of wonderful acquaintances at the Centre and its environs whenever we were there and I'm sure they all know by now why we haven't been back since early December, 2009. Some witnessed that Joan needed a wheelchair for the first time. "Not good," she would have said. I hope they know we miss them, and that we thank them.
