Guest Guest Posted January 28, 2003 Okay, now...I'm not sure whether I'm laughing a bit nervously or what, but, whatever flaws this may have (here's one: is she yelling or yawning?), it certainly does stop the eye and make one think -- and that's great. Link to comment
tom_thackrey 0 Posted January 28, 2003 Excellent, looks similar to Kim Weston's work. Link to comment
mg 0 Posted January 31, 2003 I agree with George Day. This is my favorite in this folder so far. I like the sharpness and image quality, it has a bit more contrast than others - and that fits well imo -, and mostly, it has a really strong expression, and works very well on a paradoxical level.Let's see about the paradox... The doll is in the chair and almost in a "happy" position. She, on the other hand, is totally the contrary of happy. Her body is stiff and tense. She's hiding her breasts while screaming, which seems to suggest she doesn't want to be seen, or is possibly horrified by somebody's arrival, or she's demented...At any rate, she's middle of a crisis, and with the doll on the chair, and the fact that she's nude, all suddenly makes sense. I also personally love her totally absurd body position. Nobody screams like that with joined stiff legs, and therefore, she's no longer real, but rather a symbol - of lost virginity and intrusion probably. This one is the winner for me - it really stands out as the best uploaded so far in this series. Congrats. Great work here.P.S: I'd still be interested in the final scan of the 2nd color version you uploaded as a polaroid scan... Regards. Link to comment
bill_rogers1 0 Posted March 22, 2003 Wonderful image capturing the feelings of lost youth. I've been there myself. What is she thinking? "Oh. My. God. I have a baby! I live in a hovel! My butthead husband is out drinking! I still have a beautiful body, but SO WHAT? IT WASN'T SUPPOSED TO BE THIS WAY! AAAAGGGGGHHHH!" I love the entire folder, in fact. Everything holds together as a series. Wonderful work. Link to comment

panzerwolf 0 Posted June 24, 2003 my favourite from this series... her expression is the strongest here, even if her pose doesn't really fit... the background and props are really good, seems you put a lot of work in...of course, saudek comes to mind... Link to comment
