last rays of the day

This is a beautiful sense of Light!

The backlit trees and slopes are indeed beautiful. You might consider a crop of the few "competitors" of the trees for the viewer's attention. The light in the upper right corner and the tracks in the lower right corner draw my eye away from those trees; I've added a crop that focuses my attention more on the trees and the slopes. In any event, you've shown very nice work.

 

In looking at my own crop, I think you might want to leave a hint of light in the lower left corner; I think I cropped too much.

Lovely composition and light - I agree that a tighter crop would improve it some. Ones eyes are initially drawn to the group of tree - which is a strength of the image - but they seem to me a little fuzzy- would make more impact if they were sharper. However all told well done on this one.
