RickDB 10 Posted November 5, 2009 A composit shot of the famous Medusa in the Basilica Cistern, Istanbul. The upturned head is actually located away from the main cistern and in a not so photogenic spot - so with a little PS help I have given her pride of place in this amazing 6th century reservoir. spenaloza 0 Posted November 5, 2009 Hi Rick, amazing place , an excellent shot, full of mystery and good contrast, I like the reflection , it seems to me , that the head is a bronze art casting, doesn´t it ? well done Rick, best regards //Salvador Link to comment

RickDB 10 Posted November 7, 2009 Salvador, you are right, Medusa does look like patinated bronze, but in fact it marble colored by algae. Guiseppe - I changed the color of the background from bright red to purple - thinking purple was a complementary color to the green figure. I tried B&W but I was not impressed with my efforts. Toning down the purple color so that it is much more subtle (like a monotone) works well. BTW, the reflections were created with the "Flood" filter - a really great plug-in! Cheers, RickDB Link to comment
