don_harper_the_edge 0 Posted January 26, 2003 A little too dark in the right hand corners. Thanks for sharing, and consider these comments helpful or rubbish as you see fit. Link to comment
kevin_clark1 0 Posted January 26, 2003 I love the tone and feel of this. Very interesting. Link to comment
aki_yamazaki 0 Posted January 27, 2003 Stunning though I do agree it would even be better if you lightened up bottom right?? Link to comment
nomade 1 Posted January 27, 2003 great treatment, agree about lighten up the right side and the joshua tree too. Have you used IR (lens, film or both) or is it a PS processing? Link to comment
rayfc 0 Posted January 28, 2003 Charles, Good Job. Ansel would be happy for you. Would like to know more of the technical details such as filter (looks like orange or red) and processing method (N-1 or N-2...). Keep going. I wish I could do that with my LF camera. Link to comment
jimvanson 0 Posted January 28, 2003 Great, but I too would like to know how this rather special photo came about... Link to comment
mediumformat 2 Posted January 29, 2003 Imagine that, honest-to-god film and large format to boot! I like it very much. The print is probably beautiful. Link to comment
charles_jones3 0 Posted January 29, 2003 Thanks for the comments on this shot. I took this shot after shooting around for about 3 hours not really seeing anything. But as I was about to pack up and leave, when I turned and saw this shot so clear through the camera. I just about broke my neck to set up my 4x5 camera hoping that I would not lose this shot. I shot all my remaining film hoping I would catch this space of time Sorry about the dark area, poor flatbed scanner. Link to comment
Ray House 4,493 Posted January 30, 2003 Great tonality and contrast, I think a little cropping on right side would improve composition. Link to comment
draw 0 Posted February 2, 2003 it is also intreasting this way but it does not have that warm filling like that other one Link to comment
Brad Bradley 0 Posted February 2, 2003 A better rendition than the color IMO. Surreal tones and feeling. Brad Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 4, 2003 Great image CJ. You've done a great job accentuating that dramatic sky. I tried to rate it (7/6) but it will not register my rating. Contact p.n. this has happened to me at least twice in the past. Link to comment
nigel_gregory 0 Posted February 5, 2003 Been there, done that...came away with nothing anywhere near as interesting..so: I'm interested, was it a wratten 25 filter and any other techniques, or was it darkroom work or computer work by which you produced this wonderful shot? Link to comment
roscotboswell 0 Posted February 14, 2003 Nice shot, though I find the lack of highlights in the right hand side distracting. Good comp. though. Link to comment
rmi 0 Posted February 19, 2003 The right 1/3 of the photo is quite dark. If it were lighter I think the photo would have a better balance. Link to comment
