Red Skeleton
Mammoth Hot Springs has a certain beauty to it. None you will find anywhere in the world. Lately it has become very active. The trees which have been killed by acidic minerals have a certain mystery to them and display very odd shapes. This was taken almost in complete darkness. It can get a little spooky up here all by yourself. My first attempt at night photography. I used a Mag-lite to light the tree. A flashlight is hard to control because while you are moving it around the camera will pick up stray light as you can see. I also tried to light the background trees but the attempt was futile. This is a single exposure, 30 seconds long. I tried to blend a few images together but I am not skilled enough to make it work. Canon 5D2 17-40mm L lens Bogen 3021 Tripod
