greg_adkins4 0 Posted January 23, 2003 I like the composition and tonality! The title suggests several possible meanings that enhance the mood of this photograph. Great camera choice as well. Nice work! Link to comment
peter_daalder 0 Posted February 7, 2003 Funny... There are two things that come to my mind here. Were do you get your water from and how lovely your views of the nice clear night skies would be from New Mexico - the Dark Sky State! Link to comment
connealy 0 Posted February 7, 2003 Those are two good questions. I think we got only about 8 inches of rain last year. The Rio Grande is only about a mile to the East, but it is just ankle-deep this time of year. Fortunately for us, we have a good deep well that provides for us and the animals. People from the city do always marvel at the quality of the night sky, particularly when the moon is in its bashful phase as now. Link to comment
sprouty 0 Posted December 21, 2003 This might be a long shot but is this near Las Cruces? Link to comment
connealy 0 Posted December 21, 2003 Twenty-two miles north on Highway 185. Be sure to drop in if you are in the neighborhood. Link to comment
sprouty 0 Posted January 7, 2004 Wow, my entire knowlege of the southwest is limited to a few trips to Las Vegas and Las Cruces and yet this looked familiar. I could have sworn I'd seen something like this view while climbing in the Organs. A hidden gem of an area. Enjoy, and by the way thanks for the offer. Link to comment
john falkenstine 1 Posted March 17, 2004 My most eastern hangout is...Lordsburg...tough place....Next time I go, my plan is to photograph the Greyhound bus stop when stunned folks step off into nowhere...The crowd always reminds me of Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath Link to comment
connealy 0 Posted March 18, 2004 Lordsburg is out there. Imagine what it must have been for the German POWs. My guess is they would have felt just as comfortable on Mars. Link to comment
john falkenstine 1 Posted March 19, 2004 Maybe its time to put my Lordsburg images back up again. BTW I had relatives from Europe visit some years ago. When I stopped between Bisbee and Sierra Vista, I noticed that the distances and open spaces were actually frightening them..it was just too much. (OK, I have put the Lordsburg folder back up, will put some newer images in it). Link to comment
