Definite ‘surreal’ possibilities here. I find the light a bit subdued, a bit soft. I imported the file and punched up the blue with Hue/Saturation. Just a touch. What happens then gets pretty trippy and is best seen if I fill the screen with the image. The three dimensional thing becomes really noticeable then, with the various tones of the spiky icy stalactites against a moving blue sky.

Nice stuff Linda. I like the freedom of your approach to the work. The fun you seem to be having.

Cool shot Linda! Love the way you composed this image, and captured the drops from the melting icicles. Excellent!

All the best,

Neil

Fantastic composition. This is an artistically presented image by a creative photographer. You’re successful in making this near-abstract composition outstanding. Best regards.

Very creative presentation, you have captured a “cool” winter image. I agree you could have so much fun with this one! The only thing I don’t like is that it’s just too early to be seeing something like this yet!! ;) I am cold thinking about it….

Warm regards, Pamela

Fun and frightening all at once. A small suggestion would be to crop out the black and allow the icicles to float in space, which of would be more of a surreal approach. That being said, as is, the shot is great.

Water in three states. Physics, chemistry and of course exceptional sensitivity achieved an excellent image. Congratulations. Best wishes. Vicente.

Thanks so much to all of you.

The response to this photo is so gratifying! Carlos, you make a good case for further enhancement. As it was, I did little to this other than cropping slightly on the right and subtle contrast click.

Without stirring controversy over global warming, climate change, et al. I will only say that it has been an unusual 18 months in Colorado with exhorbitant amounts of rain all summer and now 2 early snows totalling between 18 and 40 inches, depending on location.

My deepest appreciation to each of you. ~~~~~~~~~~~~L

The melting ice in water dropps makes this photo very different than many other ice photos. Lovely background contrasting the foreground too.

It's a tough call, Shawn. Colorado does get cold and snow in winter. . . .but we also have an average of 300 days a year of sunshine and 4 very distinct seasons. Thanks for stopping by and for your coment. ~~~~L
