I like your B/W version Pnina! Gives more mood and atmosphere.

Pnina, thanks for getting in touch again. This is what a b&w image should be like, with many shades of gray and with very little absolute black or white. I also like the contemplative composition and the angle at which you have taken him. I haven't been active on PN recently (or any other forum) because I've been so busy that something had to give. I will start posting and commenting again now that colder weather is here. What made me look into PN was an e-mail that Fred Goldsmith is a Featured Photographer on PN. His interview is very good, pure Fred.

Pnina, this is a marvelous capture, the focus and composition you used work very well with your subject, it conveys a monastic mood that I think any who have had the experience of going to catholic school can relate to...at least I do.

Actually it's reminded me so much of some scenes from my youth, that I find it even more fascinating.

Thanks for stopping by and writing your impressions, as it is exactly the subject of this series, to show the pluralism of the city with its different monotheistic religions ( funny how many times I wrote the word pluralism....;-))

 

I'm glad it brought you memories of your childhood, this photo has touched your feelings and for me it shows that my intention was achieved.I appreciate it very much.

Pnina....I think the BW suits contemplation (introspection) mood better where color goes more toward documentary...personaly I don't mind the blurr as it is evident we are in low light situation, maybe decreasing further the levels would reinforce the mood and further decrease the focus issue (it's not an issue for me here anyway)...
