janis lukas 0 Posted October 30, 2009 This is absolutly magnificent Dan! I did a slight recomposition. I sortened the distance between rocks and sky. Take a look! I hope really that you do not mind my try! warm regards / Janis Lukas Link to comment
eugenio_pastor_benjumeda 0 Posted October 30, 2009 Optimal shutter speed to get an image with exceptional quality, Dan. I love the ground and sharpness of the image. Best regards from Eugenio. Link to comment
danbliss 0 Posted October 30, 2009 Ioannis, thank you for your comment and thank you for the suggestion. I'd say that the composition of your version is great. For some reason I was drawn to the some what quirky composition of the version that I posted. Maybe I was just looking for something different. In any case, I will think about it again, and I appreciate your thoughtful comment. Eugenio, thank you for your kind comment. I very much appreciate it. Dan Link to comment

gunnar1664882369 1 Posted October 31, 2009 Very good quality, b/w treatment and contrast, as always with your images! But am not very sure about the composition here. Regards. Link to comment
danbliss 0 Posted October 31, 2009 Thanks Gunnar. Yeah, I think upon further reflection, I am starting to agree. Based on Ioannis's suggestion, I have a new version I am playing with. Maybe that one will be stronger. Thank you again. Dan Link to comment
teresa.zafon 0 Posted November 1, 2009 Excellent shot. The B&W conveys a wonderful dramatic feeling. I like it a lot. Link to comment
squiver 0 Posted November 10, 2009 Very cool shot Dan, I particularly like the minimalistic background. Usually in this kind of shot there is some kind of super spectacular sunset sky above the horizon, and I find it refreshing to see a more graphic solution. Interesting foreground detail as well, a good choice for bw. Link to comment
danbliss 0 Posted November 10, 2009 Teresa and Marsel, thank you for the kind comments. Marsel, it is funny. Maybe I am getting jaded from seeing too many of the dramatic sunset photos, but I guess while they are beautiful that they just don't hook me emotionally. Generally, I am a pretty happy person, but for some reason I like more melancholy images, which is what I was trying to achieve here. Anyway, thanks again. Dan Link to comment
midan_smith 0 Posted November 11, 2009 Thanks for your comment Dan, and it means a lot coming from a talented photographer, as this lovely shot demonstrates! I love the softness against the sharpness! Best Richard Link to comment
