Guest Guest Posted October 26, 2009 Michal, She is a very beautiful girl. She has a wonderful elegant look. Her skin tone is very good. Your left and right compositional balance is excellent. Her make-up is very well applied. The specular highlight on her lip is very nice. She has good catch lights. She has good eye contact with the camera (viewer). She also has a very cute smile. This photograph seems very bottom heavy. You need to crop quite a bit off the bottom or crop above her head. Cropping into the head implies you are going to do a tight crop on the bottom. It really does not work to crop that little off her elbow. When you crop into an area of the body it should be done like you really meant to do it. or don't crop into the body at all. Your background is nicely out of focus, but seems a bit confusing on the bottom left. The highlights in the lower right draw the viewer's attention away from her face. Your blacks are not really black. They look more like dark charcoal. The whites of her eyes are a light grey. You should increase your contrast a little. I don't think her eyes are quite as sharp as they should be. I don't see very good separation of her eyelashes. You should have critical focus on her eyes. Nice shot, Mark Link to comment
michal_illas 0 Posted October 27, 2009 Hi Mark Thanks for your comments that was some exhaustive commentary:), but you raised some really good points. This was actually one of my first portraits ever done, but I don't think that anyone delivered such a precise and balanced critique as of yet. I only wish I had people like you to give me advice earlier. regards Michael Link to comment
