whydangle 0 Posted October 23, 2009 Taken from the Buttermilk Hills along the Eastern Sierra Nevada, the entire landscape takes on the predominant hues of the sky. In the distance is the White Mountains, a formidable range on the opposite side of the Owens Valley that tops out at over 14,000 feet. This is perhaps one of my favorite locations for photography, especially when conditions such as this are so cooperative. If you look closely, you can see the swath of yellow flowers known as Rabbit Brush carpeting the desert floor. Commonly called Chamisa (thanks Chris Harris for providing me with the proper name), it is a seasonal bonus for the photographer searching out fall colors in this area. It looks like desert, but is truly teaming with abundant life. Please enjoy the Larger preview! Link to comment
