sarah_tanedo 0 Posted October 27, 2009 I like the position of the cockatoo in this picture. It's head is just barely in the picture, but in a good way, in my opinion. I really like how most of the bird is included in the shot...but not all of it. It gives it an almost personal feel, as if you're right there with the bird. I really like that you can't see any part of the background other than a blur of color, too. It puts the bird as the only subject that the person looks at (other than the perch it's sitting on, of course), as it deserves. :] Then the observer can really look at the important parts of the subject, like the detail of the feathers and the little scales on the bird's feet. The only issue I have about the picture is the softness of the lower part of the bird, from the upper foot down. It seems almost out of focus or a bit blurry. A little bit of sharpening around that area would greatly improve the detail of the feathers and feet. Overall a very nice picture and very good for a beginner! :] Link to comment
