Black and white is what photography should be. Kids are life.

Very, very nice.

This one is not as effective as the other because the feet are in motion or out of focus and I feel that there is too much black up top.

Wonderful idea, beautifully executed. I think the empty black space at the top of the frame is important, it gives the impression the baby is rising upwards. However, if you rework this image, you might want to appy a blur filter on the background to knock down some of wrinkles -- which to my eye, at least, are a little distracting. Otherwise, in a word, beautiful!
