Just a shame to crop off the top of his head.....!

Your lighting, exposure and rendition as well as expression are wonderful! I do not understand using a horizontal frame with a dead black space and cutting off the top of his head. It seems like you have used a television crop when a magazine crop would do so much better.

Shaun: Thanks. The crop of the top of my dad's head was intentional.

Jerry M: Thanks. Employing a landscape or horizontal frame, offseting the image to left, the black background, and croping off the top were intentional attempts to be more arsty with this composition, as opposed to being technically correct.
