pimpofpixels 0 Posted October 20, 2009 Some beautiful light you got there. I envy the landscapes you have there. I must travel to Norway ASAP to photograph! :) What do you think of that lens you're using? I was thinking of buying one, because the prize isn't too high... :) Link to comment
seungkyelee 0 Posted October 20, 2009 Thank you, Jarmo. Yes, you should order a plane ticket as soon as possible. Actually, if you like mountains with deep snow, you should wait a month or two before coming. By then, the daylight is only a short period of the day and the light is fantastic. Often I have captured images at high noon with light that gives the impression of early morning or late afternoon light conditions. For a long time I never used this lens for anything other than close-ups, tightly composed intimate sceneries and such. Sometimes I use a 70-200mm, but often it doesn`t get me as close as I want if the subject is a mountain far away. I`ve used the 70-300mm for over a year now for compressed landscapes and it`s actually a great lens. Very sharp. I always use a sturdy tripod, mirror lock-up and a remote shutter release and I have printed 30x45 cm. with excellent results. When you know it`s qualities and limitations it`s a lens that often have saved a unique moment when used properly. Seung Kye Link to comment
