Hi Tony, i remember commenting on this shot (or one just like that) a few weeks back when you put it up the first time. I like how you brought out the contrast and colors in this one. The reflection in the water is really perfect and i love the textures in the foreground wood and sand. Your horizon seems a bit off though, I realize with your wide angle lens you may have a bit of barrel distortion at the edge which make the water line a bit round, but i think you can get away with it if you just level your horizon a bit. Wonderful shot. Regards - michel

 

PS I'm also having problems accessing photographers galleries lately. So it must be a site problem.

I think PN has improved the situation because things seem to be a bit better at the moment.

Michel: You are correct - you have a good memory - I did have a landscape one a few weeks ago and it was posted when I was on the road with limited time and access to the internet. I realized that I could apply some dodge and burning and some other post processing (contrast control, etc) to bring out what i think is the best representation of the scene as i saw it. thanks for the constructive input you provided along with the first '7' on this image - very much appreciated.

Tony, this is magnificent! It is so crisp and clean, like the air in Jasper. I am sure you sell prints of this,and some of the others you have taken there at any of the exculsive tourist haunts like Jasper Park Lodge. Best wishes, Linda

Acquiring and producing images is what gives me the most satisfaction and if someone discovers the image on the internet and business can be done by e-mail otherwise I will stay very low key with the commercial aspect but thanks again for your suggestions.

I am not sure why this has mostly sixes - this is a very beautiful image - 7/7

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I am happy we share the same vision of what is beautiful - in fact I recently printed this out and it is hanging in my office and at 11x16 on matt paper it looks even better.

Fantastic image, Tony. I love the brilliance of the light and tones, and the extreme contrasts of the composition. I'd hang it in my office too, if I were you.
