This is truly the first snow in the Sawtooths of Idaho. I was taken

by these 2 trees being bathed in the morning sunlight. I was not

sure about blocking the view of the mountains but I was really

taken with these trees. What do you thing?

IMO, you've got to choose between the trees or the background mountains. Having both results in a confusing image, with the viewer not knowing what to look at or what your intentions were. My guess is that it may be relatively difficult to isolate the trees; a very shallow DOF may be the best way.

thank you for bringing the magical atmosphere to us at one of the most beautiful setting.

I agree with Stephen. There is a beautiful contrast between snow and the tree barks, it is beautiful, but if want to focus on showing that I would avoid making it as a landscape image and isolate many elements and avoid the confusion. I n this scene, I really want find my way out to look at the beautiful mountains.

best,

The trees don't bother me. I just wish there was more of them visible. Very beautiful light, clarity and color.

I disagree with the first two comments. By making the DoF shallow and thus blurring the BG mountains, you would remove the context. My eyes have no issue with understanding this photo or knowing what to look at. It's really magnificent. Great nature, clear, contrasty, great colors, great light, and also slightly different from other mountainscapes. Good job. My D80 sends high five to your D80 :-) Cheers, Micheal
