I have very limited "studio" equipment at this point. I used a light box, a table top photography light, and a flashlight. I backlit the image with the photo light, and used a flashlight to create the highlights. I used a Nikon D60, Nikkor 55mm micro lens. I am still at the stage where I cannot fully manifest photographically what I visualize in my mind.

This is one conceptualization of a photography class project I was

recently assigned: Three apples and a knife. I am a new photographer

(under a year). I have not yet presented this in class; it is one

photograph of 4 I am considering. ALL critiques will be appreciated.

I like the feel of the image....

 

I think the foremost apple and knife could moved to the rear and still be satisfying from a comp stand point.... as if the apples were waiting in line to be sliced...if you will...

 

and turning the apples so all the stems point at the knife...

 

The reflection of the strobes in the apples is a bit distracting.

 

You are on the right track.

The lighting on the knife is just great, I wouldn't change it a bit. The flash highlight is a wee bit distracting. Love the composition and overall look of the image! Nice work!
