Great with all the scratches and noise. All this without extra touch up? The shadow in the upper part makes it uneasy, but other than that a really raw pic.

The grainy glass and high contrast lighting silhouettes the subject. Faceless, he is anonymous, an essential characteristic of life on the street. The upwards drifting cigarette smoke gives a feeling of time wasting away, slowly.

The reflex on the window in front the subject distracts a lot and I am not sure it adds value to the image; however, I like the mood of this shot. Thanks for sharing.

However, the snow/dust on foreground disturb me a bit. I would like darken the center of the image (to see a bit better the man...)

i like the sunlight dust on the window, i do not find it distracting at all, in fact i believe it is what makes this photograph good. it is not obscuring any relevant detail - were it not there, what would there be? just the black silhouette. the layer of dirt on the window sets the gritty mood that the idle cigarette smoke completes. texture is what tells the story in this photo, not the anonymous silhouette.

I agree with you Hool about the 'noise' and interference on the glass - and that it is extremely interesting to try to incorporate noise into the picture's meaning - to paradoxically make it part of the 'signal'. I've also tried to do this on a few of my street images.
