I've seen numerous photos of monks. Difficult to find a unique point of view. I must say that you achieved just that. Well... you were helped by those two dogs with bags! :-))

Good photo Geert!

It's kind of hilarious but I am not sure what is going on here. Certainly an interesting moment. Captured my eye.

in regard to the concept, the picture is great. as for the technique, there's one little glitch that i'd like to point out. you should have taken the shot from a more downward position. it seems like the camera is above the monk's head(and that may well be the case). you should have been at an eye level... crouch a little or something...

the depth of field is perfect; so is the contrast balance. Congrats on a very good shot!

I like this picture a lot. The weirdness of the situation breaks the exotic feeling and it's very good. I really wonder what's behind the scene!

I understand what dan says about the eye level, but I don't really agree, you have a good perspective of the street the way you did it. What about some more space, particularly on the top and on the left, assuming that it's a street picture and not a portrait?

Yours.

spontaneous moment, I guess you had to work rather quickly to capture it, I all the more appreciate the precise and logical composition which gives the whole an elegant form. I like the contrast between the peace and happiness of the slowly walking monk with his dogs and the haste of people on their bikes behind him. Good idea to blurr the background as it adds to an impression that the monk doesn't belong to this fast moving world. Funnily enough, only the dog that is walking behind seems to show interest in leaving this world and joining the walkers in the foreground:-}. Nice work as usual, a real joy to watch. Best regards.
