This is a door on the second floor of an old building. The door and

deck go as far as you see... "Door to Nowhere"

 

I took this photo as a RAW and decided to try my hand at HDR. I split

the raw into 3 files at -1,0, +1 and came up with this. I did do some

levels adjusting in PhotoShop but I'm quite the amateur and don't

really know what I'm doing. Please let me know what you think.

I think you've got the right idea. This is a very nice piece. I like the framing especially. Thanks for sharing your work.

 

One PS trick is to duplicate a layer, then desaturate the new layer, adjust levels to get a high contrast BW. Then set layer to 'luminance'. This will pop the high contrast in the photo. You can adjust the effect by changing the mix percentage, or by erasing the parts on the BW layer that you don't want to enhance.
