I made a few of of these once in my life so I am filled with questions

1. Is this a home-made emulsion on glass or an existing commercial emulsion?

2. Are you painting the black background or using a special material behind the negative?

3. Did you rephotograph this or scan it for the computer?

4. The face around the eyes look blurry - was this a time exposure? - or slow shutter speed?

Exerimenting with older techniques is one of the joys of photography.

1. emulsion did himself, potassium iodide and methyl bromide.

2. is shaded negative.

3. this scan.

4. exposure time of 2 minutes.

two lights, one on the 1000w, the other on the 250w.
