mdc002 3 Posted October 3, 2009 Great subject and composition! It makes me wonder what was there at one time. Link to comment
stp 6 Posted October 3, 2009 Good colors, and the gull adds a very nice touch. I might leave just a hint of space above the farthest (or is that furthest?) piling. Link to comment
vinmorgan 0 Posted October 4, 2009 Thank you. These are pilings that once held a pier. They are just south of (downriver from) the existing 10th Street pier. There is another working pier just south of this. A southwest wind was mighty that day...the texture and color of the water changed abruptly just beyond the pilings. This photo was taken within the zone protected by the next pier down. On the other hand, I like the way the pilings appear to zoom off the frame at the top. It leaves what's beyond to be a bit of a mystery. Link to comment
life-in-perspective 0 Posted October 4, 2009 Nice perspective. The tonality and contrast are nice and the little white bird adds a nice touch to the composition. Thank you for visiting my page and regards. Link to comment
judith_howcroft 0 Posted February 10, 2010 Striking! A wonderful example of leading lines. A lonely fellow in a world of decay. A haunting title. I love it! Link to comment
