how distracting is the flash in the background?

very nice, woulda been better without the kids in the background and the flash. but i take skating photos also so i know how hard it is to get good, undistracting photos. was that flash a reciever of yours or someone elses?

I don't think the flash is too distracting...

You see lots of photographs like this in the skate magazines..

i actually used three flashes for this. one ttl flash in my left hand, a second main light on 8ft stand at about 2 o'clock, and the background "kicker-light" in the frame. i set up to light the rail with the 8 ft and use my ttl as fill/trigger. when ramsee (the skater) switched to the ledge i just used my ttl flash as main. you can see how the rail was lit in my skateboarding folder.
