I've gone to both. Sol Azteca reminds me a lot of dining in south Texas, so we go there a lot during the summer.

I really admire the clean lines and the power of your images, Jeff; your pictures seem both perfectly natural and balanced, and impeccably executed. It is the everyday raised to the level of fine art. I wish I could be a bit more incisive with my comments but my brain seems to have started its migration south for the winter.

Inger: Thanks. This is an alleyway that opens to several interesting restaurants. Just around the corner is a great Mexican place where I can easily eat two bowls of chips and salsa, which I lovingly refer to as "yummy triangles of death."

Emmanuel: I appreciate your thoughts. I'm working on sharpening my photos without being hard on the eyes.

Linda: Thanks. The color version had some bright, distracting colors that seemed too much. I appreciate your thumbs up.

Jack: Like you, I grapple with many issues having to do with this avocation. We of artistic bent tend to hand-wring and brood, and I find the second-guessing interrupts the flow. For me, inspiration comes in waves and I fret during low-tide, assuming that the world will remain dry. I have a cadre of photographers I regularly review for the sake of searching for that muse. There are times I go to your portfolio and see something mundane that you've elevated to the sublime and I suddenly realize that the world is much bigger than I thought it was.

Thanks, Jeff, that was a nice thing to say. And I could say the exact same thing about your body of work - it keeps me going; it forces me to raise my game.

the back street little treasures...a real invitation to search beside the main streets Jeff....and after dinner you may also get the "aztecan" coffee....low light & smooth tones make it like a whisper...

This would have been great even without your clever title, but the title makes it a real package. I love the window air conditioner.....it allows the viewer to realize that this is a little microcosm where real people live and work.....ah....the smells they must realize!! Great tones and detail in the bricks, and I love that little arched stairway leading us out of the scene. Really great work! And I could certainly make the same comment as above about both your work and Jack's. You guys always have something interesting for us!
