LenMarriott 9 Posted January 22, 2003 Anand, A beautifully lit portait of this lady & her (too bright & thus distracting) dog. To me, the fact that the dog is blury doesn't bother me as much (I believe) as that she was placed too close to the window, thus showing distracting window elements. Placing her a greater distance from the window would also have minimized the effect of having her arm & also the white dog a stop or more brighter than her face. (nice expression, by the way). Best, LM. Link to comment
anand_n._vishwamitran 0 Posted January 23, 2003 Thanks for the thoughtful criticism and your compliments, Len. The dog is blurred because it wouldnt hold still. I do have another frame where the dog is less fidgety but the lady's expression is more appealing here. Your observations about the distracting background and the uneven lighting are very valid. I probably should have tried to pull her back from the window a bit more. If there is one thing I would definitely change if I could go back, it is to focus on her left eye instead of the right. Thanks again for taking the time to comment! Link to comment
francisco_j._andolz 0 Posted April 22, 2003 Good use of natural exterior light. The calmed and friendly expression of the lady is enhanced when compared to the blur from the dog. Link to comment
