Thanks - it has been a tiring but enjoyable day as I continue my driving vacation. Currently in Fort Nelson, British Columbia. All comments are appreciated.

A very dramatic image, the light is perfect providing the viewer with rich saturated tones. I like this very much. Tony, just as an aside it appears that you took a lot of images from the highway, did ever feel the need to ask permission, often I see picture possibilities as I travel but my comfort level holds me back from taking images of private property?

Sidsel - thank for your visit and input - always appreciated.

Jim - than you for your visit and very generous rating.Re asking for permission - I am no expert in this area but I let distance from my subject matter and how far have I traveled on private property to get the shot be my guide. In this case the Transcanada highway was 50 feet to the left and felt that I was still a reasonable distance from the farm house. If there were people in the scene and they had stopped to observe my actions, I would probably feel that it was necessary to approach, identify myself, make some casual remark about the weather and then ask permission. However I would have taken one insurance image before approaching for approval.

On another occasion I had gone on a private farm road quite a distance from the highway (very far also from any human structures)- a truck drove by, the driver waved to me and I waved to him and then I just carried on with my tripod and camera in open view.

Get too close to someone's residence, you might just be interpreted as 'casing the joint'. Hearing the click sounds of shot gun being loaded might be a good indication to beat a hasty retreat.

Tony - you have been very generous with your assessment of my images recently and it is really appreciated.

Tony i had not seen this photo of yours earlier. This is really very well captured. I like the atmosphere and the light. There is warmth in the light that is caressing the house and the field and the contrast with the looming weather is really interesting. Excellent shot. Regards - michel

it's great. I think the FG is walking a tight rope of being almost too dark. Cheers, Micheal
