andrea allison 0 Posted September 11, 2009 Hi Dale! Great shot there! Just been looking over your photo's. You have taken some awsome stuff while I have been gone. Heard the concert was great and for an old guy now, he's still in great shape lol. Link to comment
vancouverphotographer 1 Posted September 12, 2009 Hey Andrea, thanks a lot - glad you're back on PN .... yeah this summer (whole year in fact) I just been shooting non-stop after being house bound during our lousy snow season. Rick was great - he was one of the ones I wanted to see for sure this year and yeah, I didn't realize it at the time but later I was thinking that's he's gotta be up there in age cuz I'm up there in age now LoL ... I'll post a couple more of him later. Link to comment
tonyazzopardi 0 Posted September 12, 2009 Hello again Dale, this is one superb rock image, neatly composed and framed and includes great lighting and a great capture of pose, character and expression. Didn't know Rick was still rocking, I remember he had a hit way back in circa 1984, when I was just 14. Still looks in great shape too. Well done Dale. Regards Tony Link to comment
vancouverphotographer 1 Posted September 12, 2009 Tony, thanks a lot man ..... yeah I remember his Jesse's Girl and my fave I've Done Everything For You very well and I knew he was still playing but never got a chance to see him till now (I just missed watching him as Dr. Noah Drake on General Hospital as well around my college years) ... but yeah, he was great, interacting with the fans and even at one point jumping in among the fans. david_l._forney 0 Posted September 13, 2009 Really nice job, Dale. Were you hired to take these images? You are very close, and the band should be appreciative if they have access to these images. David Link to comment
vancouverphotographer 1 Posted September 13, 2009 Thanks David for the compliment .... no I was just part of the audience and shooting through heads and flaying arms - I was able to snag a few cleaner shots or crop some but was challenging to be sure. I did see his website, there's a lot of high quality concert images there, I don't think they need my stuff ;-) I only shot for one band during this 17 fair day otherwise I was just part of the audience - typically with 3 rows of people in front of me even though I went over an hour early LoL Link to comment
joe-tury 0 Posted July 7, 2010 Wow! I know how hard stage shots can be! Really good technique and timing! Link to comment
vancouverphotographer 1 Posted July 7, 2010 Thanks Joseph. With some fast lenses, it makes things easier but yes, after all these years it's still challenging shooting concerts. Link to comment
Mark Keefer 4,796 Posted August 15, 2010 Dale, this a great shot.I have been doing a lot of band photography in low light. I know how hard it is to catch a guitarist/performer this clear, especially hands and guitar neck. Awesome image. Link to comment
