Yes, the photo is a little dark. I like the contrast. The color (tone) is excellent. Little changes in Brightness, Contrast, Gamma could enhance this nice photo.

I believe it is a little dark and a little flat, but that's JMO. I might do it something like this. It's a nice shot. I like the sky and the trees. Thanks.

I would agree with Barry's version, also. Personally, I don't like the cut horse. Perhaps because there is more room in the frame for the horse to move into. Interesting composition though.
