kostas_gemenis 0 Posted January 13, 2003 You really captured the mood of walking in the streets of midtown Manhattan. The steam, the rain, it's all there. Nice work. Link to comment
leilani_exner 0 Posted January 15, 2003 Excellent. Lots to look at in this photo. Very well captured. Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted January 15, 2003 I love street scenes like these. There's alot going on in the image... the energy (from the lights), atmosphere & mood (from the rain). Just a great capture. Link to comment
eldho_kuriakose 0 Posted January 15, 2003 Time square never looked so good in B&W :). Nicely done. The best part is that you got the girl's face to be lit up and the rest of the characters to be rather silloueted. Link to comment
alexander_braune 0 Posted January 16, 2003 Thanks everybody! Eldho, I was lucky to get the girl's face to be lit up at right moment. Her facial expression looks very much like the young girl's face next to the phantom's mask. A lucky moment :-) Link to comment
maxyme_grenier_delisle 0 Posted January 16, 2003 This is a very good picture. I love the contrast, the mood... I can't wait to see more work from you. :) Link to comment
manny 0 Posted January 17, 2003 Such a great image and talk about grabbing at at exactly the right moment! Beautiful! And the camera you shot it with didn't hurt either, did it? Did you have to do a lot of adjustments when you were printing the image? Link to comment
alexander_braune 0 Posted January 17, 2003 Thanks Desmond. No - I did not have to do any adjustments. The picture is untouched. First I thought about cropping it but then I just left it as is. Link to comment
neild 1 Posted January 18, 2003 I like this, it has a mood to it. I've never been to the US (so I don't know anything outside what I've seen on TV), but this reminds me, just a bit, of the movie Blade Runner - wrong city, I know... Maybe the overall dark feel of the shot brings this out for me. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted January 20, 2003 Brilliant! Very reminiscant of 1940's Film Noir, reminds me of The Big Sleep and Double Indemnity! Really captures the feel of the city. Feels really romantic as well. Great. Link to comment
brent_carr 0 Posted January 27, 2003 a beautiful image - truely timeless. I don't suppose you can recollect what exposure you gave but it was spot on - I wouldn't change a thing ! Link to comment
alexander_braune 0 Posted January 28, 2003 Hi Brent. Thanks for your input. I had my 35mm Sumicron pretty wide open. Must have been between 2 and 2.8 but I can not tell for sure. Link to comment
louis1 0 Posted February 10, 2003 Long live B&W. A timeless image. I tweaked a few things , hope you don't mind. I'll remove it asap if you wish. Put up more please. Louis Link to comment
