Postwar America produced cars with curves and flowing lines which to

me always suggested fertility and pregnancy. My favorite example was

the Nash made in the late forties and early fifties. Almost comically

gravid, it also featured a full fold down bed inside! I wonder how

many people my age were conceived in one. The phallic demon comes from

Good point, hence the overflowing abundance of us baby boomers. My '63 Rambler Ambassador, descendant of the Nashes, also had fold down front seats that fit flush with the back seats if you pushed them up.
