You captured a fine, playful moment here and framed in the way I appreciate. His white top may be too much if this were a portrait but I rather see this as an action photo, so the white only adds some dynamics to the tonal range. I love those two disks, the lock disc on the wall and the disk on the ground and their invisible connecting line being parallel to his left arm.

Now I would love to hear what you know about the add-ons attached to his shoes. Some kind on "noise-makers"? Furher I notice you have limited the pixel size of your original to sub-680 pixels, that seem to be the max in width in order to avoid the automatic resizing by PN's server in quality deteration way.

there's a lot of life in this image...I can almost hear the tack-a-tack of the "tap dance"...the slight motion blurr is essential in rendering the mood and dynamics...a pleasure to look...

Markku, the disks on his shoes are the bottoms of cans, and yes, the make noise. they change any pair of shoes into cheap tap shoes, perfect for attracting attention and pocket change from tourists. these kids are really very talented.

Kent B, thank you! i am really into trying to capture the street entertainers and artists in the French Quarter lately.

Laurent, these kids really do move. they are terrific dancers!

I love the composition here, creating a syncopated visual rhythm, amplified by the placing of the dancer off center between the red boards and the white wall. It's not only a picture of the dancer, the unusual arrangement of elements induces a kind of tension into the picture that causes us to rebalance it in our mind - the viewer does his own mental tap-dance, if you will.

So many things about this image tweaks my senses, the pop from the red door and the subjects movement probably the main points...excellent shot. I think that any time you take to examine your direction is well spent and rewarding. Best of luck to you. Linda :)
