This storm is beginning to clear but leaving lovely puddles and silhouettes.i like how the female silhouette appears to glide. I hope it presents on the web as well as it prints. Guest Guest Posted September 2, 2009 The richness comes from the backlighting and the strong color shift in the reflections. I agree that the top central figure has a nice quickstep that adds animation. The trick is to get the same expressiveness from all your silhouettes, which is tough--you could easily fill a card trying. You do have a strong narrative quality in all your figures, and the chairs and tables carry through the backlit theme and establish a sense of place. Well done. Link to comment
michael.mcmahan 0 Posted September 2, 2009 Hi ! I appreciate your remarks. I guess I am drawn to photos that have a narrative quality. I don't know if that's part of aesthetics or its more subjective. In each of the Venice rain series I've tried to express a narrative element but maybe some are more obvious such as this one. The third photo in this series focuses on the narrative element of the couple. The narrative also extends to the location, venice has its own rich narrative. I notice Charles that your photos also often suggest a narrative based upon the great cities. Link to comment
