aarkp 2 Posted September 1, 2009 He is the Thakur of Khejarla. The land straddles the Marwar plains between Jaipur and Jodhpur. Before the abolition of royalty, the Thakur was a satrap of the Maharajah of Jodhpur. In 1711 the latter gifted the Thakur's ancestor this land and ordered that a fort be built as a defense against Jaipur, with whom there were frequent skirmishes. The fort survives today as a luxury hotel. The current Thakur is an urbane man who dresses traditionally and is happy to live amongst his people. Link to comment

mauroni 0 Posted September 2, 2009 It's a nice portrait and an interesting history but some more sharpness would definitely improve the overall quality of this image. Regards Mauro Link to comment

smigliori 0 Posted September 3, 2009 I like Thakur's smug and quiet expression. A "big" man who is right in his role! The background color is very beautiful. Best regards my friend. Stefano. Link to comment
