Rajat, neither she nor I are responsible for this positioning. She was adjusting her hair in preparation for a pose, and saying "Wait, wait", when this image was snapped. None of the posed shots turned out as well. Heh.

If she was telling you to wait and you clicked -- you, my friend, are responsible. With happy results... this position of the hand turns it from a standard posed shot into a charming candid shot. You should share these li'l details with us. Enhances our pleasure in your photographic forays with the Lovely Lady.

Every time I look at one of your portraits of Shylee, her beauty washes over me, and I seem to loose all sense of objectivity and judgment. So for her, I give 7/7. I have to admit that sepia has never been my cup of tea. Her expression here is darling. I cannot put my finger on it, though, but there's something about the balance/DOF that doesn't feel right. The image behind her looks a bit flat. Perhaps you could experiment with the lighting in the background (to the sides of the umbrella) to see if you can bring greater depth to the image. Thanks for sharing. David

You're right, David. The image is lacking in depth.

Nonetheless I think your granting her 7 / 7 is definitely not objective since this pose wasn't even intentional. Heh.

I respectfully disagree with David's statement regarding the background. I think the entire focus of the shot is where it should be. The umbrella does a splendid job of drawing the viewer to the center of the picture, which of course is the point of interest. Her natural posture and the candid feel truly make this one of your finest. Great choice of color and a very nice job on the conversion. All my best-Jim

Photography like all art is intensely subjective, and I definitely see and understand your point of view too, Jim.

Thanks for the critique.
