AlainD 0 Posted August 23, 2009 An orang-outang at Ho Chi Minh City zoo, where animals are kept in rather poor conditions... Thanks for your C&C. Alain Link to comment
pisq 0 Posted August 23, 2009 the details of the fingers are very good, as are the lighting, tones and especially the textures. wrenching, Link to comment
rascal64 9 Posted August 24, 2009 Wow...chilling image. Very sad. Very well done. Great use of b/w and nice framing. It might look stronger with a bit of the top bars cropped. I would love to see this as part of a series to take in more parts of the scene. This to me, looks like a chapter in a story. Link to comment
thistleandthat 1 Posted August 25, 2009 very chilling indeed. the more i look at it, the more uneasy i feel. mostly because the fingers look like human fingers that have been subjected to horrible abuse. Link to comment
tonyazzopardi 0 Posted December 28, 2009 Very expressive and touching image Alain. Great B & W work and good composition. Well done. Link to comment
ellery 0 Posted January 17, 2010 I think it is sad to keep these more sophisticated beings in a cage their whole life - I like the B/W very much - great tones - wonderful conversion! Your approach here almost suggests that the hand could be human....riveting photo - take care. Link to comment
mark_starr 0 Posted February 25, 2010 Yikes! This is the type of image that could keep me from sleeping tonight! Without knowing its background, I would just be terrified, and I guess to be honest I would have to say that even knowing about the poor animal, I see it more as a masterpiece of advertising work for the next horror movie blockbuster. Spectacular black and white work, a very powerful image, and I would add more but I have to go lock my door...Mark Link to comment

kslonaker 0 Posted September 2, 2010 Very strong image. It's obvious it's a cage, but what is not obvious is what is behind the bars. You can tell from the bars it's not a very nice pen for anything. Link to comment
carsten_ranke 0 Posted November 27, 2010 Outstanding. Really chilling, evocative, touching. One of the best B&W I have seen for a while Link to comment
tinboxphotos 0 Posted June 7, 2011 WOW what a capture. The fact that you can only see the hand instead of the typical shot with the whole subject behind a gate/fence, makes this photo really stand out. It's almost a documentary photo, it says so much Very well executed, thumbs up :D Link to comment
