thistleandthat 1 Posted August 21, 2009 Aside from the high noise, what do you think? Link to comment
fpimaging 0 Posted August 21, 2009 great composition, colour and exposure. The noise/grain adds a distraction for me, though Link to comment
billystro 0 Posted August 22, 2009 Hi Melanie! Thanks for all the wonderful comments on my photos! I too amd somewhat of a beginner, ( I got my Canon 40D for Christmas '09). You asked on one of my shots as to what lens was used, I shot with an 8mm fish-eye lens. The only problem with that lens is it gives a "round" picture. ( I didn't know there was a difference!!) so you have to make sure your subject is centered enough for a good crop. They do make fish-eye lenses that shoot square...I got the wrong one!! If there are ANY questions or suggestions you may need, feel free to e-mail me!! Thanks again... Bill ps...Happy Shooting! Link to comment
Not Here 93 Posted August 22, 2009 Melanie... Nice shot - you're learning fast for a Bama Fan :-) There are times when you can't help but have noise and in times like that I use a little program called "Neat Image". Here's an example of what it will do. Although not super user friendly, with some experimenting it works well for about $40-$50. In this case, since it's a still life you could have placed the camera on a tripod and brought the ISO back to 100 or 200 instead of the 1600 used and that would have eliminated the noise. Anyway, good shooting - keep it up! Mike Link to comment
thistleandthat 1 Posted August 22, 2009 thanks Mike! that's why i like being buddy-buddy with you, because you are so good at knowing just what needs to be done! i don't have a tripod yet. =( but i have realized that my biggest problem is going to be camera shake since i have a slight familial tremor that makes me twitch alot. so i need to get a tripod soon!
