wogears 186 Posted August 14, 2009 Gorgeous model with sultry eyes. IMO there is too much space at the right, and the background is too sharp and busy. She's doing a very good job with a tough pose. Leaning on one hand tends to distort the shoulder. There's not much of that here, but it is visible. Keep shooting with this one--she's a natural. Link to comment
raddatzphoto 0 Posted August 14, 2009 I'm going to disagree w Les, I think this composition is rather alluring, colors/her placement working off fronds just right. (I agree w Les on Claudia) Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted August 15, 2009 Fernando, Sorry, Michael. I have to agree with everything Les said. The balance is way off to the left side of the photograph and leaning on one hand does tend to distort the shoulder. It also tends to make a strange bend at the elbow. The hand should be used for balance and show -- not for leaning on. Her hand is also a bit close to her body. It would be a more graceful pose if her hand was a little further away from her body. Her hair does blend a bit into the background. A little light bounced back into her hair would be nice. You have posed her hands very well, with the edges toward the camera. You might have wanted to pose her right hand more towards the side. It doesn't look good to me pointed towards the background so much. I would not pose her knees on top of each other. They would look more graceful and slimming if she would slide her top knee down her bottom calf a bit. This would also help slim out her hip which I feel does not need to be shown so much. Not that she is not a beautiful girl with a very nice shape, but only the slimmest of girls (and not many of those) can get away with posing straight on to the camera. You are showing the widest part of the body (shoulder to shoulder and hip to hip). It would help to have her body turned at an angle to the camera and her head turned back to the camera. This would be a more graceful and feminine pose. On most people horizontal stripes are not very flattering nor are they slimming. Her top is also tucked part-way into her jeans in front. She has a very nice expression and good eye contact with the camera (viewer). I would like to see more light in her eyes and some catch lights. This would help make her face come alive. Her breasts are a little lighter than her face. This draws attention away from her face. If you would crop a little off the right side you would also get rid of those annoying orangey-red spots on the right side of the photograph. The grass looks very nice, but here is something on the grass in the lower left edge of the picture. Nice shot, Mark Link to comment
fochoa 0 Posted August 16, 2009 I agree with you all. But, it's certain the hand distorts the shoulder. And I also wonder how would it had worked with what Les says, less space at a side. The feedback is valuable to me, since it's the first time I upload this kind of photo, I used to have the tendency on taking face portraits more like. Thanks, Les, Michael, Mark for your comments.
