Mono Motion

stevesieren

I was shooting up at Tuolumne Meadows in the afternoon and noticed all the storm clouds building up over the Mono Basin. 25 minutes later I was standing in pool of water(no I did not pee myself) just behind the camera here.

1 second exposure for the amount of blur I was looking for. That wouldn't be the correct amount of blur for every shot, it always varies. I've posted one similar before with a very wide angle so if you remember one similar it was me. That version had more intense color to it and this was taken while the light was softer so the color here is more subtle.

*On a side note. I will be a featured artists in a show at the new Four Seasons Hotel in Westlake Village, California(45 min west of Downtown Los Angeles). The show will begin October 16th and run until January 16th. More details to come.

I personally like the movement of the grass. It creates a dream-like mood. Congrads on the showing. Good colors and balance in your scene. Ry

La parte del fondo me gusta bastante con esos suaves y cálidos colores, la parte más cercana con el desenfoque, tiene una cierta sensación artística que no me acaba de convencer. Saludos.

Steve, good for you. Your work is very deserving of being in the spotlight. I like everything about this shot save for the nearby grasses in the LL, they seem to pull my eyes away from the central theme. BTW, I just got back from Tahoe and we returned via 395 to Bakersfield. That is truly one of the finest drives in all of the U.S. I have yet to stop an shoot Mono Lake, always seem to be on the move passing through.
